Above all else, Napa is simply a beautiful county in California. Known for its excellent climate for growing grapes and creating world-class wine, Napa is also a great place to visit, vacation, camp, hike, and spend a wonderful afternoon. It has fascinating landmarks, excellent attractions — particularly those for families — luxurious hotel accommodations, fine and casual dining, and a fun and engaging nightlife. To make sure you don’t miss out, learn how you can best take advantage of all that’s available in Napa.
Luxurious Places to Stay
People come to Napa to enjoy the view, bask in the gorgeous weather, and learn about the process of making wine. While in town, they want to stay in comfort and style, and Napa is replete with beautiful hotels. The Carneros Inn offers guests their own cottages with their own backyards. Enjoy the Hilltop pool and Jacuzzi, extraordinary views of vineyards, and an onsite restaurant.
Other fabulous hotels include the Milliken Creek Inn, the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Napa Valley, and the Motel 6 Napa.
There are so many wonderful attractions in Napa, but some of the must-sees include the Hess Collection Winery & Art Museum with its contemporary art and daily wine tasting and tours.
The Uptown Theatre offers live entertainment, and it’s a restored Art Deco masterpiece and a historic landmark. Come catch music, comedy, and plays. It’s also an excellent location for nightlife in Napa.
The Napa Valley Horse Company is located on the Rapp Ranch. Horseback riding lessons are available as well as guided vineyard tours on horseback. Most of the horses on site are rescue horses (Napa Valley Horse Company is home to the Napa Valley Horse Rescue).
Excellent Places to Dine
When it comes to eating, what’s best is often determined by what you have in mind. For example, for excellent sandwiches, you’ve got to try Gott’s Roadside. Try the Ahi tuna burger on a toasted egg bun or the Let’s Be Frank, a grilled dog topped with cheese and house-made chili.
Redd’s in Yountville is an uncommon restaurant retreat that serves up specialties like glazed pork belly with apple purée and soy caramel. If that doesn’t knock your socks off then the petrale sole with coconut rice, chorizo, and clams will.
A few other restaurants to keep an eye out for include Angele Restaurant and Bar, the Bounty Hunter, Cole’s Chop House, and Tra Vigne.
Having already mentioned Uptown Theater, your next best bet for nightlife fun is the Silverado Brewing Company. It’s an attractive stone crafted building north of St. Helena and loved by the locals, especially for the fine handcrafted brews and excellent food options.
Carpe Diem Wine Bar is another favorite, and though wine is on the menu, certain dishes have also become very popular, including the ostrich burger, house-made burrata, truffle popcorn, Filet Mignon skewers, and cheese and charcuteri.
