The fine people at JD Sports couriered a pair of Timberland Earthkeeper 2.0 men’s boots to me for review, so what follows in my honest opinion.
Timberland Earthkeeper 2.0 Boots
The boots feature a brown nubuck upper coupled with a rubber sole. The fastening capability of the tonal laces are further enhanced with the the Timberland branded velcro fasteners along the top, ensuring the boots are smoothly, yet firmly, held into place.
What you instantly notice about the Timberland Earthkeeper 2.0 boots is how exceptionally light they are. I actually thought that they had to be missing some bits. Then I realized, I’m just used to really heavy boots. So that was pleasant surprise number one. Then I noticed they are indeed a handsome boot, and super (and I mean SUPER) comfortable. Unlike other boots I’ve worn, they aren’t stiff the first time you wear them. No need to wear these boots in for a few days before setting out, they fit like a glove right out of the gate.
I was hard-pressed to find any fault with these Timberlands. The only minor gripe I had are with the soles. Timberland seemed to be going more for style than utility, so the sole is slimmer and less ridged than many boots on the market. For many that could be seen as a plus, but I found the boots had a little less grip than I was used to.
If you’re in the market for casual, well-fitting men’s boots for shorter hikes, and style and quality are top of mind for you, then a pair of Timberland Earthkeeper 2.0 boots make a stellar option. Note: I received a pair of complimentary boots from JD Sports in exchange for a review.
