Things to do in Osaka

by in Japan

Osaka is located in the center of the Kansai Region, which is a great place to go to for those on their first or second visit to Japan, everything is nice and close to together and the best part is everything is much cheaper than if you were to visit Tokyo.

The Kansai region comprises of Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Arima. Each one of these locations is a treasure trove of adventure and fun. There are literally hundreds of fun things to do in Osaka alone.

Osaka has arcades around every corner and food courts all over the place as well as having some great shopping spots. If you want to relax you should go to SpaWorld, they have a huge variety of different spas and it’s great fun scaring all the Japs with your Gaijin Chinko, Chinko smash, you’ll truly feel like Godzilla here, rawww.

If your not into hot baths and covering Japanese you might be more interested in going to Osaka Castle. Osaka castle is unfortunately a reproduction but it’s still great fun going there, though there’s usually a ton of school kids. Get dressed up in samurai gear and chase them around for a couple of photos, only costs 500en or about $6.

If you like cats and hobo’s you might want to wander around the park surrounding the castle. Now if your not into hobos you should see it all at the Umeda sky building, it’s the highest building in Osaka and has a nice large observation deck on the top floor.

Now if temples are you thing Kyoto is the place to go, they have literally hundreds to thousands of different temples, littered everywhere. Unfortunately a lot of the temples are quite far apart so unless you like cabs or walking you might want to skip them.

If your an animal guy you might want to head over to Nara to feed the deer and see more temples. I loved watching the deer knocking over all the kids, was quite funny.

Well that’s it for now, ja mata ne.
