Clubbing on a Budget in Tenerife

by in Contributing Author

If you’re after a clubbing holiday in the sun and don’t fancy paying the high prices of Ibiza, Tenerife is the ideal destination. The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is the party island for anyone who doesn’t want to spend ten euros on a pint or six euros on a bottle of water and it’s no less decent for being cheaper!

There are numerous bars, clubs and party spots on the island of Tenerife, but the main hub is the Playa de Las Americas area, which can be split into three main party spots. The Patch is the main spot for bars and shops with entertainment in the form of karaoke, cabarets and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. Las Veronicas is home to the best nightclubs in the area, as well as pubs and bars that stay open throughout the night. There are plenty of terraces and open beach bars to sit and drink cocktails at in the warm summer evenings before going onto a club like Veronicas later on. Then there’s the Starco Centre, where you’ll find the well-known Tramps nightclub, which never disappoints holidaymakers looking for a party.

If you decide to come on a clubbing holiday to Tenerife then a further way to save money is to opt for a low cost hotel in a central area. It’s no good saving money on your accommodation only to find that you’re miles away from anything. Making the most of your time by being close to all the action is part of getting your money’s worth.

The Columbus Aparthotel in Playa de Las Americas is a mile away from both The Patch and Las Veronicas, so you’re within easy walking distance of all the action, without being so very near that you don’t get any sleep at all. The hotel is very reasonably priced and self-catering rooms here include their own kitchenettes, so you can make your own meals and save even more of your budget for the things that matter: cocktails and club entry!

To make the most of the party season you’ll want to visit Tenerife in summer, but another way to cut down the budget a little bit more is to go just outside of the peak summer months which run over the school summer holidays. If you can go in late June for example then you will still get decent weather and plenty of nightlife but at a much more affordable price than if you go in August.
